Recursos Spanish Language Resource

is a new online information resource developed to serve the Spanish-speaking residents of Westchester. Click for explanation in Spanish [1]

Recursos en Español offers four information components:

Spanish Catalog [2] Look for books, videos, music, DVDs and audiobooks in the catalog-all in Spanish. If you find materials in the catalog that is not in your library you can place a reserve and the materials will be sent to your library.

La Biblioteca Virtual [3] is an online reference collection with links to news, institutions, and popular culture from Latin America and Europe. This resource providesan organized way to find a wide range of information.

Interactive Health Tutorials [4] (NEW) WLS now provides residents access to more than 200 interactive educational videos with basic health information. Some videos explain specific illnesses or conditions, while others describe medical tests and procedures. These videos are published by the Patient Education Institute, and are designed for all patients and consumers regardless of their educational level, ability, or familiarity with computers.

NOTE: These tutorials require a special Flash plug-in, version 6 or above. If you do not have Flash, you will be prompted to obtain a free download of the software before you start the tutorial.

Viviendo en Westchester [5] features information from local government agencies and community organizations, including housing, education, immigration, health and other key issues. WLS is pleased to extend these new resources to the Latino community.

Spring 2010. Learn English with Westchester Community College at the White Plains (WP) and New Rochelle (NR) Public Libraries! Free classes for beginners: four beginning levels.
